A Great & Affordable Date With A View!

With Mt. Washington having one of the most incredible views in the world, who wouldn’t want it to be a part of their romantic adventure? Add the exciting vibe of Station Square and your date is sure to be a good one!

Start off with a trip up the Monongahela Incline to take in the beautiful city view. A round trip ride will cost you $5.50 per couple. Be sure to ask for the transfer when you get your first ticket or it will be more expensive. Check the schedule for times. Stroll down Shiloh Street at the top of the hill to find Grand Brew Cafe, an adorable little coffee shop where you can grab a cup of joe.

After some coffee and conversation to get your date started off, hand over your transfer and take in one last view down the hill, because next you’re in for some authentic Japanese cuisine at Kiku Station Square. Expensive? A bit…but here’s a tip. Use their Restaurant.com coupon and you’ll get $25 off your bill! Just Google ”Restaurant.com” to find out about current discount codes that will get you $25 certificates for only $2.  The only requirement is that you must spend at least $35 to use your certificate and you pay gratuity on your pre-discounted meal. (Alcohol not included.) If you want to make this the best bargain it can be, each of you can order the Teriyaki Chicken entree at $18 a piece. Add some Saki to your meal and you’re looking at about $35 total including the 20% tip. Not bad for a great meal and drinks at a fabulous place.

If you still have a few dollars to spend after dinner is over, you can head to one of the many Station Square bars for a night cap. Then it’s time to go home and get cozy with a rented flick. Stop at any Redbox location in the city and use the code “breakroom” at checkout. It should get a FREE movie rental, but if the code doesn’t work, it’s only a buck. Get a romantic classic and let’s call this one a date well “spent”!
