Lovin’ Lawrenceville on Sundays
Looking for some affordable fun on a Sunday? We’ve got a whole day planned out for you in Lawrenceville…off-the-beaten-path, and on the cheap!
We recommend you start off the day with a late morning Sunday brunch at Coca Cafe. Enjoy unique omelet selections like smoked salmon ($7.75), sun-dried tomato pesto ($7.25), or Four Cheese with Ham ($7.75), all served with grilled potatoes and fruit. Add a croissant for $1.25 if you’d like. They don’t take advance reservations, but they DO take call ahead seating requests, so give them a ring when you’re “on your way” and get your name on the wait list.
After brunch it’s time for some good ol’ fashioned BOWLING! Arsenal Bowling Lanes offers 50 cent Sundays from 1:00-4:00pm. For a $6 admission price, you get 50 cent shoe rental, games, soda and hot dogs!
After you’ve finished bowling, it’s off for a stroll down Butler Street for some window shopping. Stop in some of the great independent stores like Wild Card, where we’re pretty sure you’ll be able to score a very unique purchase. You’ll also want to hit Zombo Gallery, which features “hip lowbrow art” (as their website calls it), artwork that is rooted in 1950’s and 60’s pop culture and kitsch. Inside Zombo Gallery, you’ll also find some reasonably priced vintage men & women’s clothing, by Wear It Clothing Co.
The shops all begin to close around 5:00/6:00 on Sundays, which is perfect timing because now is when we send you off to your final destination spot…Brillobox. Every Sunday Brillobox features a $5 starving artist vegetarian dinner at 6:00. Past meals have featured dishes like vegetarian lasagna and veggie stew. The evening also includes a special $3 craft brew and tunes off the juke box.
From breakfast to dinner…what a way to spend the day!
