A Great & Affordable Pittsburgh Date With A View!
With Mt. Washington having one of the most incredible views in the world, who wouldn’t want it to be a part of their romantic adventure? Add the fun vibe of Station Square and your Sunday date is sure to be a good one!
Start with a stroll up Shiloh Street where you’ll find the Shiloh Grill, which features an envious brunch spread. It’s served from 10 until 2, so start this date when you’d like. The 16 foot long all you can eat buffet includes Coffee Tree Roasters coffee and all your favorites…even omelettes made to order. Oh, and it also includes your choice of a frozen mimosa or “Hair of the Dog” Bloody Mary. At $14 per person, it’s a pretty great deal costing around $35 for two including your tax and tip.
Next, jump on the Monongahela Incline to take in the beautiful city view as you head down the hill to Station Square. A round trip ride will cost you $6.50 per couple. Be sure to ask for the transfer when you get your ticket or it will be more expensive to get back up to Mt. Washington. Check the schedule for times. If you don’t mind the cold, a walk down Grandview is always a site to take in.
When you get to Station Square, head straight for Pennsylvania Wine Cellar. You can taste their affordable, local Pennsylvania wines. For around $15 or less, you’ll be able to buy a wine you chose together AND get a customized label to commemorate your fun date! It’ll probably take about an hour to create your custom label, so browse around the shops for a bit, or grab a cup of coffee. There are lots of quaint, fun shops to browse around down there. Hold hands and take a stroll… out of the cold!
Once you pick up your wine, grab your transfer and head back up to Mt. Washington to take in one last breathtaking view! At around $55 total, this date is sure to please and make a big impression… just not a big impression on your wallet!
Don’t worry about driving or parking – take the bus! The route that will get you closest to your Mt. Washington destinations is 40 (in addition to the Mon Incline, which is part of this date). You can also plug your address into Port Authority’s Trip Planner to get a quick, customized route. Getting there couldn’t be easier!
