What can be more romantic than a breathtaking view of the city atop Mt. Washington? How about a few things to go along with that great view…like martinis on Grandview, a romantic ride on the incline, wine, dinner and a movie to take home. The cost – $55-$65 for two! This Monday date may be off the weekend mark, but it’s still sure to please.

Start off your evening atop Mt. Washington at Grandview Saloon. You can each sip on a couple $3 Smirnoff flavored Martini during their Martini Mondays. $18 will cover 2 martinis for each of you (4 total), tax and tip.

Next, head over to the Mon Incline and take a trip down to Station Square. It’s a fun little ride, plus, it’ll only set you back $6.50 round trip for two people. Be sure to ask for a transfer when you buy your ticket, otherwise it’ll cost you more. Don’t forget to take in one of the most beautiful skyline views in the world on your way down!

Once you get to Station Square, stroll hand in hand and enjoy browsing the quaint little independent shops. A notable stop would be the Pennsylvania Wine Cellar. They sell local wines, which you can sample on site and then choose your favorite. You’ll find a nice variety of wines, many of which are only $8.99, so pick up a bottle to share for later! And for a romantic touch, have them print a personlaized lable as a momento of your date. They cost just $3.50 so your bottle still ends up costing only around $14.

Finally, head over to Buca di Beppo for some yummy Italian fare. Here’s a coupon for $10 off a purchase of $20 that’s good through the end of 2011. You and your sweetie can order a Buca Small Lasagna (plenty for a couple to share) plus one of their famous 1/2 pound meatballs, and your bill with non-alcoholic beverages, tax & tip is barely $25 with the coupon.

If you’d rather move your date somewhere more private, your Buca coupon is good for take-out as well! Don’t worry about getting drinks – you can pop open that bottle of wine you bought earlier in the evening). With a little take-out tip your dinner expense is down to around $15. On your way home, stop at any Redbox location in the city to rent a movie for only a buck! If you’ve never done this before, try using the code “breakroom” at checkout. It should get you a FREE movie rental, but if the code doesn’t work, hey – it’s still only a buck. Select a romantic classic together…and let’s call this one a date well “spent”!

Don’t worry about driving or parking – take the bus! The route that will get you closest to your Mt. Washington destinations is 40 (in addition to the Mon Incline, which is part of this date). You can also plug your address into Port Authority’s Trip Planner to get a quick, customized route. Getting there couldn’t be easier!
