Before your date, you’ll need login to, where you can purchase $25 gift certificates to local restaurants for only $10…and even get up to 90% off. 70% and 80% discounts are offered regularly, which means you’ll likely pay around $2 or $3 for a $25 gift certificate to many local restaurants. If you’ve never done it before, it’s really easy. Just Google search “ coupons” and one of the first couple of options should be a link to the current discount code.

Buy your certificate for August Henry’s City Saloon– a casual restaurant in the Cultural District with tasty American fare. Share a moderately priced appetizer, like the coconut shrimp, two entrees such as Chicken Rouladeor their Iron City Buffalo Meatloaf (trust us, it’s yummy!), and maybe even share a White Raspberry Rendezvous…and your bill with the certificate will come to around only $50 including tax and a tip of the pre-discounted bill.

Next, take a romantic stroll through the Cultural District. While the galleries are closed on Monday evenings, there’s still plenty of public art to be found.

This one may sound crazy, but trust us, it’s beautiful and it won’t take much time. Head to the Theater Square Garage and ride the glass elevator all the way to the top. Like we said, it’s a glass elevator, so it’s a pretty view riding up. Get off at the top (be careful of cars of course) and you’ll get a lovely view of Downtown amidst all the buildings and above the bustle. It’s a great place to be…and a great site to see.

Your final destination is Seviche, a trendy latin-inspired ceviche & tapas restaurant, for Salsa Monday where you’ll be able to take advantage of FREE Salsa dancing lessons starting at 9pm. After the lesson, continue to dance the night away with a DJ spinning Latin tunes starting at 9:30 and relax with a glass of sangria as well.

This whole night clocks in at around $70 for two including tax and parking. Not too bad for all the excitement of the city!

Don’t worry about driving or parking – take the bus! There’s more routes than we can mention that put you right in the heart of the Cultural District.  Use Port Authority’s Trip Planner to get a quick, customized route. Getting there couldn’t be easier!
