The Walled Garden at Mellon Park
Inside Mellon Park you’ll find the Walled Garden, and an art installation titled 7:11 am 11.20.1979 79º55′w 40º27′n. It transforms the garden floor into a celestial vision at night when 150 “stars” light up the ground. During the day, you can read the 150 stone markers, inscribed with the star’s name and some intriguing info.
This installation, created by Janet Zweig, reflects the exact sky above Pittsburgh at the moment Ann Katharine Seamans’ birth in 1979. The title refers to the specific time, date & longitude & Latitude in Mellon Park.
