Vintage Race Weekend – Schenley Park
FORBES AVENUE OF SPEED RACE CAR PARADE & CAR SHOW IN SQUIRREL HILL Friday July 20, 6:30 pm – 8 pm
Race participants will parade their cars into Squirrel Hill and park along Forbes Avenue, between Shady Avenue and Murray Avenue for a short car show. The public is encouraged to attend, see the cars meet the drivers and shop in Squirrel Hill.

SCHENLEY PARK CAR SHOWS AND RACE QUALIFYING – SATURDAY, JULY 21
INTERNATIONAL CAR SHOW – 11:00 am – 4:00 pm
Over 2,000 vehicles will cover the golf course.Come see classic, antique, and exotic vehicles including British, American, German, Asian and Italian cars on the golf course.
VINTAGE RACES THRU SCHENLEY PARK 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
All of our vintage racers will be on track all day Saturday. They will be divided into 7 race groups determined by engine size and eligibility. There will be practice sessions in the morning and qualifying races in the afternoon. A special race featuring cars entered in both race weekends will runs as the last race of the day.
SCHENLEY PARK RACE DAY – SUNDAY, JULY 22
INTERNATIONAL CAR SHOW – 10:00 am – 5:00 pm
Our 10-day event closes with a bang as we continue with our races and car shows all day long. Most of the cars return from Saturday to relax and watch the races.
VINTAGE RACES THRU SCHENLEY PARK 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
All groups will run practice sessions in the morning. From 11:00 am – noon we hold our Opening Ceremonies with parade laps by MG Marque and Patron Parkers. The afternoon features our Winner’s Circle races with top finishers recognized at the Start/Finish Line.
Race Week Support Events
KICK-OFF RALLYE Sunday July 8 – 11:30 am
Car enthusiasts match their driving skills against a “mystery course” through the streets of Pittsburgh. This 2-3 hour event combines your driving and navigation skills. It is a fun, casual way to kick-off our Race Week. Rallye starts on Craig Street in Oakland and finishes at the Spaghetti Warehouse in the strip district.
BLACKTIE & TAILPIPES GALA Friday, July 13 7-11 pm SOLD OUT!
The Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix will host our annual blacktie party benefiting the PVGP charities at historic Oakmont Country Club. A must for any auto enthusiast. Tickets are $200 each until May 1 when they increase to $250. Sponsored by Hoechstetter Printing and supported by Duquesne Light, Metropolitan Windows, Nordstrom, Buckley Associates, Mosites Motorsports and Eyetique.
PVGP HISTORIC RACES AT PITT-RACE July 13-15 Weekend 9 am – 5: pm
The 9th Annual PVGP Historic Race Weekend held at the Pittsburgh International Race Complex (formerly BeaveRun) presents a variety of vintage (pre 1960) and historic (after 1960) racing along with related activities in Beaver Falls, PA. Watch the races and take a spin on the Kart track – proceeds benefit our charities. $15 per day or $25 for the weekend, kids under 12 are free. Sponsored by Pitt-Race Complex
INVITATIONAL CAR SHOW ON WALNUT STREET Monday July 16, 5– 9 PM
Nestled on Shadyside’s charming Walnut Street view rare, classic and exotic cars – a sampling of what is to come on the weekend at Schenley Park. Show cars by invitation, free to spectators. Sponsored by eyetique.
WATERFRONT CAR CRUISE Tuesday July 17, 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Join us and see over 500 cars of all marques at the Waterfront in Homestead. $5 donation to our charities is requested. Sponsored by Guardian Storage Solutions
DOWNTOWN PARADE & CAR DISPLAY Wednesday July 18, 10:30 am – 2:00 pm
50 Race and show cars will thunder through downtown Pittsburgh on their way to car displays at the U.S. Steel Tower, PPG Place and Market Square. New for 2012 is an all day car display at the Fort Pitt Museum at Point State Park. Sponsored by UBS.
GRAND PRIX TUNE-UP AT BOSSA NOVA Wednesday July 18, 6:00 – 9:00 pm
A special happy hour downtown at Bossa Nova on 7th Street. Live entertainment and silent auction. $40 per person at the door includes tapas and two complimentary cocktails. Sponsored by Metz Lewis Brodman Must O’Keefe.
COUNTRYSIDE TOUR Thursday July 19, 11 am – 3 pm
This is a new event for 2012. Approximately 40 participants will depart Pittsburgh in their sports cars for a tour and lunch in the countrysides east of Pittsburgh. Hosted by the Greater Pittsburgh MG Club.
