Big Buzz Program through the URA

The Urban Redevelopment Authority (a.k.a. the URA) is launching their brand new Big Buzz program, designed to spur neighborhood business district revitalization using the 48x48x48 strategy of short and medium term achievable projects and activities. The goals of the program are to bring newcomers into neighborhood business districts and create a buzz about the business district, through media and word-of-mouth.

By determining what you can do in 48 hours (a weekend), 48 days (roughly, a month), and 48 weeks (a year, projects can be accomplished by volunteers, working together with businesses.

Grant applications will be accepted on a rolling basis. Prior to submitting an application, applicants must meet with URA staff to discuss their project or activity. The maximum grant award is $7,000.

So get creative, and create some “buzz” in your neighborhood! Learn more about the project on the URA’s website.

This program is available to business districts Citywide that do not currently participate in the Mainstreets program.
