In 1999, Neighbors in the Strip (NITS) began to evolve from the inactive Strip Business Merchants Association. Recognizing a need for more than just business promotions, a group of Strip District stakeholders united their efforts to form an organization that would “promote economic development opportunities, while preserving the personality, integrity and character of the Strip.

It was immediately apparent upon meeting the group over at NITS that they truly are good people. The kind of people who want to do good for their community and help anyone who wants to be part of making Pittsburgh even better than it already is. Living Pittsburgh is so happy to have them as one of our first neighborhood partners.

Since 1994, the PDP has been marketing Downtown as the premier location to live, work, shop, dine, play, and visit. Formed by Downtown businesses, professionals, civic organizations, foundations, and residents, the PDP fosters a clean, safe, accessible, and vibrant Downtown through a wide range of strategies and advocacy for actions that will strengthen the city, enhance its beauty and vitality and make it a better place for business and pleasure.

The PDP has a vested interest in our city, and a personal commitment to it’s success. They have been beyond helpful in spreading the word about Living Pittsburgh and offering valuable advice and guidance. We are proud to have their support!
